MPR are the Champions of Local Music!
The Sounds of Summer Concerts have historically been another opportunity for us to showcase local musicians with this annual series of concerts.
Since 2012, these concerts have been proudly supported by the Palmerston North City Council, and the community.
After a year off in 2018, the series returned in 2019, and with the wider-Manawatu region at heart!
So, with the help of the Manawatu District Council (as well as all of the awesome supporters listed below), MPR held concert events in Feilding, Hiwinui, and Apiti - the latter two in support of the Hiwinui School Gala, and Apiti Family Cycle Race respectively. 2019's concerts - for the first time in series history - also had an extra visual element with local artists creating works side-stage live at each event! Works created were later exhibited at a final concert/wrap-party for Sounds of Summer 2019, held at Joe McMenamin's Gallery in Feilding.
